Display root boundaries and the corridor at the chair.
The first validation question is whether both root surfaces can be resolved reliably in real time.

Italian for echo
An ultrasound-guidance concept for TAD placement.Eco is intended to display adjacent root surfaces and the interradicular corridor before and during orthodontic mini-screw placement.

THE PROGRAM
Eco is a high-frequency intraoral ultrasound concept. The program is testing whether a miniature probe can show both adjacent roots and the corridor between them at TAD-placement depth. Feasibility and clinical validation are not complete.
SEE ECO IN MOTION
The concept uses intraoral ultrasound to guide the clinician without another radiographic scan.
THE PRODUCT JOB
The first validation question is whether both root surfaces can be resolved reliably in real time.
The concept applies ultrasound to a shallow buccal target during placement.
Eco is intended to provide guidance only. It would not place a TAD autonomously.
PROPOSED MECHANISM
A proposed 15–25 MHz intraoral array uses root surfaces and cortical bone as strong ultrasound reflectors. Spatial compounding is intended to reduce specular dropout, while the software turns the signal into a live go/no-go corridor rather than asking the clinician to read raw grayscale alone.
CURRENT STATUS
This device is not available for clinical use. The engineering, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, and naming work listed below remains incomplete.
