Aria

Italian for air

A chairside nasal-resistance measurement concept.

Aria is intended to measure pressure and airflow and report nasal resistance separately for each nostril during an orthodontic visit.

THE PROGRAM

A chairside nasal-resistance measurement concept.

Aria is an active anterior rhinomanometry concept for orthodontic teams. It combines pressure and flow sensors in a smaller chairside instrument. Calibration, repeatability, clinical, and regulatory validation are not complete.

SEE ARIA IN MOTION

Aria is intended to measure nasal resistance for each nostril during the visit.

The concept combines live pressure and airflow measurements in a compact chairside instrument.

THE PRODUCT JOB

01 · MEASUREMENT

Measure pressure and airflow for each nostril.

Aria is intended to calculate resistance for each side before combining the result.

02 · CHAIRSIDE USE

Fit the measurement into a routine visit.

The concept replaces a larger pump-and-mask setup with a compact local instrument.

03 · RECORD

Store the measurement with the clinical record.

Resistance trends would sit beside imaging, history, and clinician interpretation. Aria would not diagnose sleep apnea.

PROPOSED MECHANISM

Measure pressure and flow for each nostril.

A bidirectional respiratory-flow sensor and differential-pressure sensor stream synchronized measurements to a local computer. The contralateral nostril acts as the posterior pressure tap through the shared nasopharyngeal chamber, avoiding a throat catheter or bulky mask in the current design direction.

CURRENT STATUS
